Hi! My name is Violet, and I live in the southern US with my wonderful girlfriend, Magnolia. I am currently a senior in college studying conservation biology. I have a minor in entomology (bugs) and I also love birds, bats, and trees. I hope that, one day, I can work as a taxa biologist or an entomologist. However, my dream job is to be an artist living in a sunny studio in some beautiful forest (it's called a DREAM job for a reason) and so I always try to honor that part of who I am by trying to be creative every day. On this site, I will hopefully be sharing some of my projects.
When I'm not dragging myself to school or work, I relax by reading, writing, drawing, crafting, and watching TV. I also love running and biking and hiking- anything that gets me outdoors! One day, I would love to thruhike the Appalachian Trail.
I love listening to music, but I wouldn't call myself a music expert or even a music buff. I mostly listen 2 indie rock, grunge, folk, country, ambient, and classical, but I'm seriously open to any genre of music (yes, even the mongolian throat singing and the harsh noise). I believe that every genre contains at least one beautiful song.
I plan to use this site as a digital hub for my interests and works. Fun Fact: my URL is napthalenequeen21 because one of my jobs is working in an insect museum. Naphthalene is the compound used in mothballs, and we use the pure form of it in the museum to keep living bugs from cannabalizing our dead bugs. I always smell like naphthalene after a long shift.

this is one of my favorite insects, the mayfly! Fun fact: Mayflies are in the order Ephemeroptera- and they are so "ephemeral" that they don't even have mouthparts as adults- they just mate and then die after less than 52 hours. Really makes you think about life.

Sandwiches are my favorite food. i love a toasted italian sub, but I don't discriminate. Any food that falls into the broad category of protein, vegetables, and sauce enveloped within bread is likely to be enjoyed by me
I also LOVE lahmacun, which is basically a flatbread with meat and vegetables spread on top. It might be my favorite food ever.
Kind of basic, but I firmly stand behind the fact that chocolate chip cookies are the perfect dessert.
